September 1, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

Back pain problem can really be debilitating and can get very difficult to manage with. At times it becomes unbearable to an extent that the person is not able to stand, sit or lie on his own. Many imaging tests are performed to know about the reason and origin of back pain. If you have prolonged back pain problem including pain in the lower back, legs and numbness in legs, you should seek a suitable treatment mode for yourself until it gets too late. Many factors can be responsible for this problem like age factor, family history or pregnancy. Other causes can be your lifestyle and your wrong ways of handling your body.  Laser back pain treatment helps you get rid of the problem by finding out and correcting its cause.

Laser back pain treatment involves four widely recommended procedures for correcting back pain problems. One of them is Percutaneous Discectomy for herniated, bulging or degenerative disc problems and sciatia. Another one is Foraminotomy for sciatia, foraminal stenosis, spinal arthritis and bone spurs. Laminotomy is performed to treat spinal stenosis, herniated and bulging discs, nerve impingement and bone spurs. The fourth one is Facet Thermal Ablation for treating facet joint syndrome, arthritis, hypertrophy and degenerative facet joints.

The best part about laser back pain treatment is that unlike other treatment methods, the patient need not worry about long hospital stays and other botherations like managing with pain, etc. Any major surgery is associated with high risks to health and is subjected to numerous complications that sometimes develop much later after the surgery. The patient needs to be extremely careful regarding his diet, body postures and physical activities. He needs to follow strict medications for a particular span of time. Sometimes, this span has to be increased depending upon the recovery from the surgery. A laser procedure, on the contrary involves no such botherations. In just a matter of 5 days, and some postoperative visits the patient can look forward to leading absolutely a normal healthy life.

Type Two Diabetes

June 13, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

Among the two types of diabetic conditions, type two diabetes is considered to be more problematic as it stays lifelong. Though the symptoms are the same as in type one, but the cause is different. This type occurs for the reason that the body does not respond to insulin the way it should. The production of insulin is ok but the body fails to recognize it. This type of diabetes occurs commonly. Type two cases are reported more than type one. Insulin plays a vital role for the body. It helps the body get energy from the food we eat. Thus, in other words, it solves the major purpose of intake of food.

Insulin is a hormone produced and released by the body itself. It breaks down the glucose present in the food into essential energy that shows you are fit and fine. But when insulin fails to function as per requirement, the sugar remains unconverted in the blood. The production of insulin goes on and on by the pancreas. This condition of excess sugar in the blood is known as hyperglycaemia. At the same time the insulin level also goes very high. So the symptoms like extreme tiredness, urination, hunger and thirst occur.

The myth about type two diabetes, that it is found among fat people only. It is not so. Even slim or thin people can also develop this long-lasting ailment. The disease is reported to be transmitted through genes. Along with this, unplanned or irregular diet, overweight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and lethargy leads to it’s possibility. The age factor also adds to it’s probability. Women who suffered from gestational diabetes are also likely to face type two diabetes. Those who think, fall into any of these categories should get diabetes tests done for diagnosis. After confirmed diagnosis, seek the treatment, but only from a specialized medical practitioner.

Infant Acne

June 4, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

Birth of a baby is a matter of immense bliss for the parents. They wish, their baby should look like a perfect poster baby. Even a single mark on baby’s skin bothers them. At this moment, if they find rashes on his face or other parts of the body, it is very natural for them to get disheartened. But there is no way to get depressed over this issue as this might be a simple case of infant acne. It is commonly known as baby acne and in medical language, it is termed as acne neonatorum. It usually occurs at the time of baby’s birth or about 3 weeks after the birth and stays uptil 6 months.

The reason behind the occurrence of infant acne is hormonal reaction. The mother’s hormones when pass on to the baby, they show on baby skin, in the form of acne. It is more common among baby boys since the male and female hormones react on their skins. They keep showing till the baby is breastfed. The hormones also pass in to the baby’s body through mother’s milk. Once the period of breastfeeding is over, these acne signs diminish on their own. So, no treatment is needed for them.

Infant acne does not irritate the baby. All you need to do is try avoiding application of any lotions or creams as this can only add to the problem. Instead, keep the baby skin clean. Use gentle soap and don’t rub the skin to avoid possibilities of inflammation. Anything that comes in baby’s contact should be sterilized properly. The clothes should be washed in mild detergents. Avoid using synthetic ones. Pure cotton clothes and linen should be used. Don’t feed the baby with any kind of milk formula. Keep in mind that, the acne would go after a span of time. Just maintain good hygiene and cleanliness because that is good for both mother and her newborn who are, at the moment, very prone to infections. Even after six months, you feel the acne is there, consult a Paediatrician and follow his advice.

Endometriosis And Stabbing Low Back Pain

May 20, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

There are many severe problems associated with women’s reproductive system. One of them is Endometriosis which can be another cause of lower back pain among women. Endometriosis is caused as a result of development of uterus lining, outside the uterus. Every month, after the menstrual period is over, the uterus again prepares itself for next cycle. This happens by the formation of new uterus line inside the uterus. But, when the lining develops on the outer side of the uterus, many complications take birth. And this might also result in really bad lower back pain. Thus, Endometriosis and stabbing low back pain can be associated along with other painful symptoms.

The extra growth of lining outside the organ bothers other organs badly. This results in discomfort and pain. The organs even get damaged causing internal bleeding. If not treated properly on time, this might result to death of the woman. Other symptoms that indicate this complication are nausea, tiredness, painful menstrual period, painful sexual intercourse, fertility problems like woman’s inability to conceive and the problems related to other organs that get damaged because of this unwanted uterus lining. For the sufferer, Endometriosis and stabbing low back pain does not remain the only issue as other organs are also at risk.

The daily and reproductive life of a woman gets completely disturbed. The exact cause of Endometriosis has not yet been confirmed, though doctors and researchers have come up with many theories. Some say, it is because of the over production of the hormone Estrogen and some believe that the problem is genetic. If someone had this problem, it is believed that her offspring and further are more prone to this ailment. Whatever may be the cause, all must note that Endometriosis and stabbing low back pain can be related to other symptoms as well and this should be given due concern else it might take a very heavy toll on one’s health and life.

Stages Of Pregnancy

May 14, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

Pregnancy is a long period of nine months. To record all the developmental stages, the period is divided into three trimesters which are considered as three stages of pregnancy. The first trimester starts from the first day of the last menstrual cycle (LMP). At this time, even the conception has not taken place. The conception occurs as the egg is fertilized by the sperm. This fertilized egg travels through the fallopian tubes to reach the uterus. It then, attaches itself to any point in the uterus wall and starts growing there. During this period, many women complain of morning sickness that includes nausea and various types of cravings. The probability of miscarriage is more during this time so one should be very careful.

By the time, the second trimester starts, morning sickness diminishes and the women get settled to carry on with the pregnancy quite comfortably. This is considered to be the safest period or stage among all the stages of pregnancy. Now the tummy of the mother starts showing. Women enjoy this period as they now start feeling the movements of their growing baby. Gradually, the size of the baby increases as it gains weight. The fod intake of the mother also increases. Since the baby grows in size it puts pressure on other organs of the mother. So, at times, the mother feels breathlessness. Also, the heart rate of the mother increases to increase the supply of the blood to both the mother and her baby.

The third trimester is the last of the stages of pregnancy and calls for extra attention as it ends up with the birth of the child. At this time, the mother should be careful enough while walking, sitting or even lying. She might get anxious over the D-day. But, she should keep her cool and should continue with her planned diet and supplement intake. She should be aware about the signs of labor so that she gets medical attention on time. To meet all the requirements for the day of delivery, all arrangements should be made in advance.

Heart Disease

April 10, 2009 by essentialhealthcare

Disease of the heart or cardiovascular disease is a term used to refer to any problems concerning the heart and the blood circulation system. Arteries and veins form the core of the blood circulation system. Various studies show that women normally suffer from problems in the blood vessels whereas men normally suffer on account of problems related to the heart muscle. Some of the diseases of the heart are atherosclerosis which is due to blocks in the arteries, Ischemia which causes reduced blood supply to the organs, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease caused by blood pressure, inflammatory disease and valvular heart disease affecting the valves of the heart. Atherosclerosis is the most common among the heart diseases which is caused due to the arteries getting blocked on account of build up plaque or calcium deposits inside the arteries. The arteries narrow down on account of the plaque thereby reducing the flow of blood rich in oxygen. These are the causes of coronary heart disease affecting the coronary arteries.

Calcium score heart disease treatment involves checking the arteries for any plaque formation by using special radiography techniques. Since arteries generally do not contain any calcium, the presence of calcium otherwise denotes an onset of serious problem and its immediate treatment in the early stage itself. Calcium score heart disease treatment is also called as coronary artery calcium scoring treatment.

Blocked blood vessel lead to an increase in the blood pressure and affect the heart’s capacity to fill or pump adequate quantities of blood throughout the body and are reasons for the causes of congestive heart disease more popularly known as heart failure. The above can be prevented to a large extent by curing it in the initial stages itself and calcium score heart disease treatment helps in identifying the problem in the initial stages.
